Commencing in 1997, this powerful leadership development conference is named for the late Dr. Percel O. Alston, one of the most significant and dynamic leaders, scholars, and theologians of the United Church of Christ.
The theme for the 14th Annual Percel O. Alston Institute was African American Children and Youth in Crisis: The Church Responds. It featured inspiring tremendous teaching, provoking presentations, spirit-filled worship, and potent preaching on critical issues facing African American youth in the 21st Century. Participants left with practical models Churches can use to provide nurture, support and empowerment for youth and children.
