There are times during the course of life when weeks seem to be longer-shorter-harder-stronger than other weeks. Here at Franklinton Center at Bricks those weeks do come along, even as we are in the midst of enjoying them. And sometimes everything that “might-could-fall into a week” happens on the same day! And the rest of the week still happens, but you get to breathe it in differently.
On November 7, 2020 our Community First Program had the responsibility of hosting two simultaneous drive-thru clinics: Health Insurance Enrollment & a COVID-19 Testing Clinic. Please keep in mind that RURAL Eastern North Carolina is currently one of NC’s epicenter’s of COVID-19 and there is a continued need for testing.
At the same time, members of the Chi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. visited our site for a brief sharing of our sites history and a photo shoot. Remembering that this was the first teaching site of one of their co-founders, Anna Easter Brown. Who could have imagined when we started planning for this day that their Sorority Sister (Ms. Kamala Harris) would be declared Vice President Elect TODAY. Historic moment. – we look forward to sharing their official pictures soon.
And for good measure, we officially jumped in head first and joined up with the Southern Movement Assembly to participate in SMA9. We are proud to be official!
